Construction of a new village hall for
Arrochar and Tarbet is nearly complete. The hall is being
built adjacent to The Pitstop Diner in Arrochar opposite the
pier. Construction started on
Thursday December 18th 2008. Local born Arrochar Native Mary Haggarty
performed the ceremony of cutting the first turf in front of local
people, children and the local media. The hall is to be called the '3
Villages Community Hall' - The three villages are Arrochar, Succoth and
Tarbet. The current car park has been cordoned off for the construction
work and won't reopen until the construction is complete. Mary was in
good company with many leading figures from
the village who have worked tirelessly for many years to raise the funds
required for the new hall This included leading figures from the
Community Development Trust, the Community Council and The National Park
